Project Brief
Heritage Care were expanding their operations and had a requirement to upgrade their existing office environment. The goals were to encompass the latest technologies by providing a seamless turn key solution within a very tight office refurbishment programme. Technology House were asked to provide the Client with a complete business solution to include the implementation of a new cabling infrastructure (both power and data), an IBM blade server solution and an interactive boardroom audio visual environment.

Project Summary
The project had to be implemented whilst critical business operations continued on a daily basis. With this in mind, careful planning of the works required in the floor voids had to be considered not just from a project perspective but, more importantly, from a Health and Safety point of view. The first fix of Category 6 cables and Electrak power distribution components were completed out of normal business hours with final fixing and commissioning being undertaken during the normal working day. Category 6 cables were presented within floor boxes which were powered from the sub-floor Electrak system. The boardroom AV solution encompassed a fully integrated control system that streamlined the control of the various AV devices. The operations of the Client were carefully considered when designing the new server environment, which also had an effect on the type and size of UPS required to back up the communications equipment.
